Case Study: Rashmi Joshi

Rashmi Joshi was a successful district sales manager who hoped to be promoted as the marketing manager. However, the company hired an external candidate because management felt Rashmi had a habit of taking credit for others' work and blaming others for failures, making her unsuitable for a higher leadership role.

After being denied the promotion, Rashmi became demotivated and dissatisfied. Her performance declined - she delayed decisions, submitted reports late, and lost interest in her work, even though her team continued to perform well.

The new marketing manager's challenge was to motivate Rashmi, rebuild her confidence, and help her return to her previous level of performance through effective direction, communication, and motivation.
