2. Marketing Planning
- Marketing planning means making a clear plan to achieve marketing goals like higher market share.
- It includes decisions on production level, promotion and specific action programmes.
3. Product Designing and Development
- Product design makes the product attractive and useful for the target customers.
- A good design improves performance and gives a competitive advantage in the market.
4. Standardisation
- Standardisation means producing goods using fixed specifications to maintain uniform quality.
- It builds buyer confidence and reduces the need for repeated testing and inspection.
5. Grading
- Grading means grouping products based on quality, size and other important features.
- It is useful for items like wheat and oranges and helps get better prices for higher-quality goods.
6. Packaging and Labelling
- Packaging is creating the product’s wrapper or container; labelling is designing the label on it.
- Both protect the product and also help in promotion, as customers often judge quality from packaging.
7. Branding
- Branding means selling products under a specific name instead of just the general product name.
- A strong brand name differentiates the product, supports loyalty and improves sales.
8. Customer Support Services
- These include after-sales service, complaint handling, credit, maintenance, technical help and information.
- Good support services increase customer satisfaction, repeat sales and brand loyalty.
9. Pricing of Product
- Price is the amount customers pay to get the product and it strongly affects demand.
- Marketers set price objectives, choose strategies and decide when to change prices.
10. Promotion
- Promotion means informing customers about product features and persuading them to buy.
- It uses tools like advertising, personal selling, publicity and sales promotion.
11. Physical Distribution
- Physical distribution covers moving goods from producers to consumers through intermediaries.
- It includes decisions on channels, stock levels, storage, warehousing and transportation.
12. Transportation
- Transportation is the actual movement of goods from one place to another.
- It is needed because customers are spread across different regions away from production centres.
13. Storage or Warehousing
- Storage bridges the time gap between production and sale or use of goods.
- It ensures smooth availability of products and protects against delivery delays and demand changes.
