Only One Mother
Summary
This poem is about how there is everything on plane earth is available and there but there is nothing like our mother everything will come and go but your mother will always be there for you no matter what.
Stanza by stanza explanation
Hundreds of stars
in the pretty sky,
Hundreds of shells
on the shore together,
Hundreds of birds
that go singing by,
Hundreds of lambs
in the sunny weather.
In the first stanza the poet talks about how there are hundred of starts in the sky and how there are hundreds of shells on the shoere and hundreds of birds and hundreds of lamb.
Hundreds of dewdrops
to greet the dawn,
Hundreds of bees
in the purple clover,
Hundreds of butterflies
on the lawn,
But only one mother
the wide world over.
In the second stanza the poet goes on and gives us more examples about how we can see so many things around us but none of them ourlike our mother.
