The birth rate refers to the number of live births per 1,000 population in one year. Also called 'fertility rate' (average children per woman).

• Low Age of Marriage: The Legal minimum age is 18 (females) and 21 (males), allowing a longer childbearing period.
• Son Preference: Parents may have more children to ensure at least one son (cultural incentive).
• Joint Family System: Financial responsibilities are shared; more children bring less burden.
• Rural Agriculture: Families need more working hands on farms, so larger families are common.
• Poverty: Poor parents hope that more children will bring greater support and security.
• Limited Family Planning Awareness: Many families do not access modern birth control due to ignorance or traditional views.
