  • A field visit is an important method of geography education.
  • Field trips offer first-hand exposure to geographic concepts and aspects.
  • A field trip or an expedition is a journey made by a group of individuals or students to a location outside their usual surroundings. 
  • A field trip usually involves observation for educational purposes, non-experimental research, or to provide student experiences outside their regular routines, like going camping with their professors and classmates.
  • Field trips are often organised into three stages: preparation, activities, and follow-up activities. Both the teacher and the student must prepare. Before a trip, teachers frequently research the area and the topic. Field trip activities often involve lectures, excursions, worksheets, videos, and exhibitions. Discussions in the classroom after the field trip are considered follow-up activities.
