Solution 1
An alloy is a homogeneous mixture of two or more metals or metals and non-metals. For example, brass is an alloy of copper and zinc.
For example:
- Stainless steel is an alloy of Nickel and Chromium.
- Amalgam is an alloy of Mercury.
- Brass is an alloy of Copper and Zinc.
- Bronze is an alloy of Copper and Tin.
- Solder is an alloy of Lead and Tin.
Solution 2
An alloy is a homogenous mixture of two or more metals or a metal and a non–metal in definite proportion.
Examples:
- Brass – copper, and zinc.
- Stainless steel – iron, nickel, and chromium
