Let z = (1+i)

\[\tan \alpha = \left| \frac{\text { Im }(z)}{Re(z)} \right|\]

\[ = 1\]

\[ \Rightarrow \alpha = \frac{\pi}{4}\]

\[\text { Since, z lies in the first quadrant }. \]

Therefore, arg (z) =\[\frac{\pi}{4}\]
