  1. Macavity is blamed for most of the crimes which leave the Scotland police and flying squad fuming and fretting because he just vanishes after every crime is committed. Besides, he leaves no proof or evidence behind.
  2. He is in a by-street or in the square when a crime is discovered. He always has one or two alibis.
