7G, Sonia Appartment,
Rainbow colony,
                           M.G.Road, Dharavi,
Mumbai:- 400 016.
7th March 2018.

To,
The Editor,
The Times of India,
Dadar (W),
Mumbai – 400 021.

Subject: Improper disposal of plastic carry - bags.

Dear Sir,
The way we live reflects our decisions, choices we make and our responsibilities as individuals and societies. While we all aspire for a modern and sophisticated lifestyle, we cannot deny that the way we have been living is
obviously not sustainable.

One of the most visible symbols of our throw-away society and unsustainable lifestyles is the abusive use and improper disposal of plastic carry bags, which have emerged as a major environmental issue in many countries, including obviously in India.

Though very convenient and practical for use in view of their strength, durability, lightness, excellent barrier properties for water and gases and low cost, plastic carry bags cause much damage to our environment and may take between 400 and 1000 years to break down in the environment.

Kindly, make this letter public so more and more people will become aware of the ‘nuisance’ value of plastic.
Thanking you,
Yours faithfully,
X y z.
