Dear Moon,

I hope all is okay with you. I’m writing to express my admiration for your beauty and my admiration for the way your light brightens the night. By shining brightly, you make the world happier. I used to stare at you for hours when I was younger. Seeing you use your light to make everything shine was such a joy. I am inspired to write songs and poems about the light you provide to a gloomy world by your consoling presence.

I’m writing to you for a second reason: I need your assistance. Like the other peasants, my dad works in the city. The path he travels is dark and hazardous, and he arrives home late. Scorpions and snakes abound there. He would return home sooner and I would be able to hear stories and fairy tales from him if I could light up the entire road. I would plant its seeds along the way to illuminate it if you could simply lend me one or two baskets of moonlight. Do assist me, please. All I need is a basket full of it.

I am awaiting your reply. I hope you won’t disappear again without sharing some of your light with me.

Yours sincerely,
kamini Rawat
