`("d"y)/("d"x) = (1 + y^2)/(1 + x^2)`

∴ `("d"x)/(1 + x^2) - ("d"y)/(1 + y^2)` = 0

Integrating on both sides, we get

`int ("d"x)/(1 +  x^2) - int ("d"y)/(1 + y^2)` = 0

∴ tan–1x – tan–1y = c
