Advertisements
Solution
a : b = 4 : 7 ⇒ `"a"/"b" = 4/7`
`(5"a" - 4"b")/(2"a" - 3"b") = (5 xx "a"/"b" - 4)/(2 xx "a"/"b" - 3)`
= `(5 xx 4/7 - 4)/(2 xx 4/7 - 3)`
= `(20/7 - 4)/(8/7 -3)`
= `(-8)/-13 = 8/13`
