If (3x – 9) : (5x + 4) is the triplicate ratio of 3 : 4, find the value of x.

Solution
We have,
`(3x - 9)/(5x + 4) = 3^3/4^3`
`=> (3x - 9)/(5x + 4) = 27/64`
`=> (3(x - 3))/(5x + 4) = 27/64`
`=>(x - 3)/(5x + 4)= 9/64`
`=>` 64x – 192 = 45x + 36
`=>` 19x = 228
`=>` x = 12
