Solution

Given, Ramesh earns = ₹ 28000 per month

His wife Rama’s earns = ₹ 36000 per month

Total earning = ₹ (28000 + 36000) = ₹ 64000 per month

Ratio of Rama’s earning to their total earning = `(₹ 36000)/(₹ 64000) = 9/16`   ...[On dividing numerator and denominator by 4000]

= 9 : 16
