Solution

In the given network, the parallel combination of two 2 Ω resistors is
connected in series with the parallel combination of two 3 Ω resistors.
:. Resistance in parallel of two 2Ω resistors is:

`1/"R"_"P" = 1/2 + 1/2 = 2/2 = 1`

R= 1Ω

Resistance in parallel of two 3Ω resistors is:

`1/"R"_"P" = 1/3 + 1/3 = 2/3`

`"R"_"P"' = 3/2 Ω`

Total resistance of the network

`"R"_"total" = 1 + 3/2 = 5/2 Ω`
