Bullets and Numbering
- Bullet: A bullet is a symbol (such as a dot, arrow, or checkmark) used to highlight items in an unordered list, where the sequence of items is not important.
- Numbering: Numbering is a method of listing items in a specific order using numbers or letters (like 1, 2, 3 or A, B, C), typically used when the sequence or priority of the items matters.
- Purpose of Bullets and Numbering : The purpose of bullets and numbering is to organise information in a clear and structured format. Bullets are used for listing items where order is not important, making content easier to read and scan. Numbering, on the other hand, is used when the items follow a specific sequence or order, such as steps in a process or instructions.
Steps to Insert a Bulleted List :

Step 1 :
Click at the position in the document where you want the list to begin.
Step 2 :
Open the Bullets & Numbering Dialogue: Go to the menu and click.
Format → Bullets & Numbering → Bullets Tab
Step 3 :
In the Bullets tab, several bullet symbol styles (like dots, arrows, squares, etc.) are available. Select your preferred bullet style from the grid.
Step 4 :
Click OK and apply the selected bullet style to the list.
