उत्तर
Following are the types of carbohydrates:
- Monosaccharides are the smallest units of carbohydrates. They come in one of three forms: glucose, fructose, and galactose. Glucose is often referred to as blood sugar; fructose, which is commonly found in fruits, is often referred to as fruit sugar while galactose is typically found in milk.
- Disaccharides are simply the combination of two monosaccharides. The most common disaccharides in the human diet are sucrose or table sugar, lactose, or milk sugar, and maltose.
- Polysaccharides have a lengthy chain of monosaccharides that are joined together. Three of the most common polysaccharides are starch, fibre, and glycogen.
Each type of carbohydrate has a varied effect on energy levels and overall health. Therefore, it is critical to eat a range of carbohydrates in a balanced diet.
