Workers in the unorganised industry do not enjoy other perks such as paid leave, high earnings, or medical insurance, as opposed to those in the organised sector. But they have to take these jobs to survive. Unorganised sector workers require protection for:
- Wages: In this sector, wages are low and irregular. They are not compensated for overtime or leave.
- Safety: Working in construction always carries the danger of injury or death owing to a lack of safety precautions.
- Health: Poor hygiene and excessive working hours can negatively affect one’s health.
