Solution
Limitations of internal sources under recruitment process:
- Scope is limited: When employees are transferred or promoted, the opportunity to hire a new employee with a broader skill set is reduced. New personnel in the organization are required to maintain the organization's new life.
- May reduce enthusiasm: When employees realize that promotions are predetermined and that they will be promoted from time to time, they lose motivation and become hesitant to perform better and more efficiently.
- Quantitative limitations: When an organization tries to fill every open position with talent from inside, things get challenging because it is impossible to meet every criterion with the talent already on staff, especially if the organization is new.
- Employees' lethargic attitude: When there is no new talent or healthy competition introduced into the organization, the existing personnel get apathetic toward their jobs.
