Solution
Area of shaded triangle = Area of ΔABC – Area of rectangle PQRS
∴ Area of a triangle = `1/2` × Base × Height
∴ Area of ΔABC = `1/2 xx AC xx BD`
= `1/2 xx 40 xx 16 m^2`
= 20 × 16
= 320 m2
∵ Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth
∴ Area of rectangle = 10 × 8 = 80 m2
Area of shaded region = 320 – 80 = 240 m2
