Find the 6th term form the end of the AP 17, 14, 11, ..., (–40).

Here, a = 7 and d = (14 – 17) = –3, l = (–40) and n = 6

Now, nth term from the end = [l – (n – 1)d]

6th term from the end = [(–40) – (6 – 1) × (–3)]

= [–40 + (5 × 3)]

= (–40 + 15)

= –25

Hence, the 6th term from the end is –25.
