Formatting a Text

Step 1: Font Style: These are basic text formatting buttons.
- Bold (B): Makes the selected text bold. (Ctrl + B).
- Italic (I): Italicises the selected text. (Ctrl + I).
- Underline (U): Underlines the selected text. (Ctrl + U).
Step 2: Font Name: This dropdown lets you select the typeface or font (e.g., Liberation Serif, Arial, Times New Roman, Courier New, Calibri, etc.) for your text.
Step 3: Font Size: Choose the size of the text (e.g., 10, 12, 14) from this dropdown. Can be adjusted to make text appear larger or smaller.

Formatting a Paragraph

Click on Format and choose the options for formatting a paragraph
Step 1: Align the paragraph text within the page.
- Left: Aligns text to the left margin.
- Right: Aligns text to the right margin.
- Center: Aligns text to the center of the page.
- Justified: Spreads text evenly across the width of the page, aligning both left and right edges.
Step 2: Paragraph Indentation:
- Before Text: Sets space from the left margin before the paragraph starts.
- First Line: Adds a small indent at the start of the first line of the paragraph.
Step 3: Paragraph Spacing:
- Above Paragraph: Adds space above the paragraph.
- Below Paragraph: Adds space below the paragraph.
Step 4: Line Spacing:
- Controls the space between lines within the same paragraph.
- Common options: Single, 1.5 lines, Double, etc.
