Solution

  1. Minerals such as iron ore, manganese, nickel, copper, bauxite, tungsten, diamonds, and others are primarily found in eastern Brazil, a highly developed region.
  2. However, the western region of Brazil has not fully developed. The majority of the area is covered with thick, dense equatorial rainforest. As a result, unfavourable weather, heavy rainfall, weak transit links, and other factors impede development.
  3. Furthermore, inaccessibility, limitations on the use of natural resources, a lack of information on prospective resource reserves, and so on have all contributed to mining constraints in Brazil’s western region.

For these reasons, mining is not developed in western Brazil.
