External recruitment sources are those from which job vacancies are filled outside the organisation. Benefits of external sources of recruitment:
- Fresh talent: Recruitment through external resources gives scope for the entry of new talent resources into the organisation. Hence, there is increased organisational efficiency.
- Wider choice: External sources offer a wide range of options for selecting a suitable candidate. For example, advertising or placement agencies help recruit the right person from among applicants. Hence, the organisation can select from various applicants.
- Competitive spirit: When external resources join the organisation, existing employees will compete with them by working hard. Hence, there is a competitive spirit among existing and external resources in the organisation.
- Qualified personnel: Recruitment from external sources helps hire qualified, specialized personnel and trained resources for designated jobs. Hence, these resources are capable of adapting to technological developments.
