Working Note :

(1) Calculation of Share of Good will

(a) Average Profit = `"Total profit"/"No. of years"`

 = `(30000 + 25000 + 20000)/3`

= `75000/3`

= Rs 25,000 /-

(b) ∴ Goodwill = Average profit x No. of yrs. purchase

= 25000 × 2 times

= Rs 50,000

(c) Share of Goodwill to Sangarsh = `1/4 xx 50000 = 12500`

(2) Calculation of Share of profit due to Sangarsh.

Share of profit = Last years profit × profit Sharing ratio × period

= `20000 xx 1/4 xx 3/12` = Rs 1250/-
