Question
Factorise the following:
a2 + 10a – 600
Advertisements
Solution
Product = – 600, sum = 10

Split the middle term as 30a and – 20a
a2 + 10a – 600 = a2 + 30a – 20a – 600
= a(a + 30) – 20(a + 30)
= (a + 30)(a – 20)
