Solution

Sr. No. Primary productivity Secondary productivity
1. The rate at which producers convert energy from photosynthesis and chemosynthesis into organic compounds is called primary productivity. It is measured per unit time and area. When the rate of energy accumulation is measured at the consumer level, it is called secondary productivity.
2. It can be divided into gross and net primary productivity. This productivity is not divided into gross and net.
3. In comparison, it is quite high. It is comparatively small.
4. It is caused by the synthesis of new organic matter from inorganic raw materials. It is caused by the synthesis of organic material from organic matter.
