The enzyme Dnase converts DNA into Deoxyribonucleotides, Rnase converts RNA into ribonucleotides, nucleotidase converts the nucleotides into nucleosides and phosphate and finally nucleoside phosphorylase converts nucleosides into nitrogenous bases and pentose phosphate. Nucleic acids are digested in the small intestine as below:
