Solution

The saying means that thoughts and beliefs become meaningful when they are put into practice. A person may speak about justice, courage or compassion, but those ideals are truly demonstrated through actual choices and deeds. Actions reveal whether our thoughts are sincere and whether we are willing to accept responsibility for them. In Nehru’s view, ideas should not remain empty words; they should help people improve society and build a better future. This does not mean that thinking is unimportant. Thought gives direction to action, while action tests and expresses thought. Therefore, our conduct provides the strongest evidence of what we genuinely believe.
