उत्तर

Discipline: According to the principle of discipline, employees in the organisation must follow the rules the regulations as defined in the organisation. It also implies developing commitment in the employees towards organisation as well as towards each other. This principle states that the discipline is required at superior as well as subordinate level. For example, the employees must honour their commitments
towards the organisation by working efficiently and effectively. On the other hand superior must also meet their commitments by meeting their promises such as increment, pension and wage.

Scalar chain: A scalar chain refers to a pre-defined, formal path of authority and communication in the order of highest to the lowest. For example, A is the project manager in an organisation and he further has a project lead (B) and a team member (C) under him. So, the chain of communication would be A-B-C. Suppose there is another hierarchical order wherein he has a team manager (D) and a team member (E), i.e. the chain of communication is A-D-E. Now, if C wants to communicate with E, then he would follow the communication path C→B→A→D→E. That is, C would first contact the higher authorities (C→B→A) who would then send the message to `E^((A→D→E))`

After completing her Bachelors in Fashion Designing from a well-known college in France, Aditi has opened a boutique in a posh market in Kolkata. She has divided the work in smaller units and each employee is well trained to perform his/her task efficiently. The sales persons are allowed to close a deal with a buyer by giving a maximum of 5 percent discount, whereas the decision to give any further discount rests with Aditi as the final authority.

In the earlier period of her business venture, employees were asked to put in extra hours of work. In return she had promised to give them a special incentive within a year. Therefore, when the business was doing well, she honours her commitment by giving bonus to her employees. She also instructed her employees that communication from top to bottom should follow the official lines of command. However, she tends to be more biased towards her female employees, when it comes to solve the conflicts among employees.
