Solution

For the topic
Points:

  1. Women can balance their home and their careers.
  2. Women are better at managing.
  3. Women teach values to children. They are nurturers by nature.
  4. Women multitask with ease.

Paragraph:

Since ancient times one finds evidence of a male-dominated society. A gender bias in favour of men has been common. Men were given benefits that helped them to improve their strengths. History is proof of this, from Newton and Galileo dominating scientific thought to Michelangelo’s and M. F. Hussain’s artistic skills, the most popular names are those of men.

Are women not equally talented?

They definitely are. This is proven by the fact that despite the gender bias, women have made their mark in history. From Kalpana Chawla to P. T. Usha, women have destroyed the age-old ideas and proven their value. This shows that given a chance and equal opportunity, women perform amazingly well. In fact, they balance the household and their career with grace and ease.

They earn and take care of their families. They are great at multitasking. They teach values of love, respect, and devotion and are nurturers by nature. Therefore, due to the sufficient proof to support women’s personal and professional skills, the statement that women do what men can do and do it even better than them stands true.

Against the topic - ‘Also Multitaskers’

Points:

  1. Men have achieved fame as expert chefs and other roles normally related to women.
  2. Men do bring up children in the absence of their wives.
  3. Men take up the duty of single-handedly earning for the family.
  4. Men can also do multiple tasks at once. There is no difference between the skills of the two genders.

Paragraph:

There is basically no difference in what a person can achieve on the basis of gender. There are a few traditionally women-dominated spaces, where men have made their mark too, like cooking. Sanjeev Kapoor and Vikas Khanna are well-known names in this field. Men also care for and raise their children single-handedly. A man is traditionally considered as the main earning member of the family. However, with the changing times, women too have started focusing on their careers. But saying that a woman can do things better than a man would be unfair. Men too share all the household tasks and everyday duties with women today. Distinguishing a person’s skills on the basis of gender is unfair and narrow-minded. Both men and women walk together in all fields today. Thus, the statement, ‘what men can do, women can do better’ is old now.

It is widely believed that people do their best work when they are promised rewards for their achievements. Our schools and workplaces operate on the assumption that good work occurs when people are competing for grades, money, or recognition from others. In truth, the prospect of rewards provided by others can inhibit and limit people’s drive and creativity. People do their best work when motivated from within by their enjoyment of a particular challenge and their satisfaction in doing something well.

What do you think motivates people to do their best? Plan and write an essay in which you develop your point of view on this issue. Support your position with reasoning and examples taken from your reading, studies, experience, or observation.
