Question
What can be done by workers so that they can get a fair share of benefits brought by globalisation?

Solution
To secure a fair share of the benefits of globalisation, workers must band together to join strong trade unions and independent associations. They can use these unified platforms to engage in collective bargaining to demand living wages, controlled working hours, proper overtime compensation, and regular permanent contracts, rather than settling for insecure casual labour. Workers should also educate themselves on state-mandated minimum wage standards, international labour rights, and workplace safety regulations in order to avoid corporate abuse. Workers can also lead public campaigns and nonviolent demonstrations by partnering with consumer groups, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and larger civil society networks. This collective pressure drives multinational firms and local governments to recognise, implement, and legally safeguard the rights of their employees on a worldwide scale.
