In a highly competitive global market, employers believe that worker flexibility is critical for lowering operational costs and fulfilling variable international orders. Faced with heavy pressure from overseas purchasers to supply high-quality goods at affordable prices, factory owners prefer to hire temporary or contract workers during peak production seasons and then let them go when business slows. This independence enables businesses to avoid the financial cost of paying permanent employees during downtime, maximizes profit margins, and makes the local industry significantly more appealing to foreign direct investment (FDI).

Point of view of the workers:

Workers believe that flexible employment practices have entirely destroyed job security and resulted in widespread economic abuse. Because permanent jobs have declined dramatically, people are compelled to accept casual, short-term contracts in which they can be fired without notice, compensation, or legal protection. Furthermore, these temporary workers are denied critical social security benefits such as healthcare, provident funds, and paid sick leave, requiring them to work excessively long hours and intensive overtime shifts in hazardous conditions merely to make a minimum living.
