Sum of all the observations = 124 + 146 + 156 + 148 + 160 + 136 = 870
Number of observations = 6
Mean = `"Sum of observations"/"Total number of observations"`
= `870/6`
= 145
Arranging in ascending order = 124, 136, 146, 148, 156, 160
n = 6 observations
∴ Two middle numbers
`(n/2)`rd
= `(6/2)`rd
= 3rd
`(n/2 + 1)`th
= `(6/2 + 1)`th
= 4th
Median = `("3rd value + 4th value")/2`
`(146 + 148)/2`
= 147
