Solution

The length of a rectangular field is 23 m more than its breadth. If the perimeter of the field is 206 m then its area is 2520 m2.

Explanation:

Let the breadth be x metres.

Then, length = (x + 23) m.

∴ 2[(x + 23) + x] = 206

⇒ 4x = 160

⇒ x = 40

∴ b = 40 m and `l` = 63 m.

Hence, area = (63 × 40) m2 = 2520 m2.
