Question
State any one characteristic of a parallel LC AC resonance circuit.
Advertisements
Solution
- Resonance occurs when XL = XC.
- Resonant frequency fr = `1/(2pisqrt"LC")`
- Impedance is maximum.
- Current is minimum.
- When the alternating current of different frequencies is sent through the parallel resonant circuit, it offers a very high impedance to the current of the resonant frequency (fr) and rejects it. However, it allows the current of the other frequencies to pass through it, hence called a rejector circuit.
