Solution
Brutus speaks in a calm, logical and straightforward manner. He tells the Romans that he loved Caesar, but killed him because he loved Rome more and feared Caesar’s ambition.
Antony, on the other hand, uses emotion, irony and repetition to influence the crowd. By repeatedly calling Brutus and the conspirators ‘honourable men’, he gradually makes the people doubt them. He also reminds them of Caesar’s good deeds and shows Caesar’s wounds.
Thus, Brutus appeals mainly to reason, while Antony appeals to the emotions of the crowd and succeeds in turning them against the conspirators.
