Given, 0.25(4x – 5) = 0.75x + 8
⇒ x – 1.25 = 0.75x + 8
⇒ x – 0.75x = 1.25 + 8 ...[Transposing 0.75x to LHS and 1.25 to RHS]
⇒ 0.25x = 9.25
⇒ `(0.25x)/0.25 = 9.25/0.25` ...[Dividing both sides by 0.25]
∴ x = 37
