Solution
Total length of a wooden board = `150 1/4` cm = `60 1/4` cm
The carpenter sawed off a piece of length = `40 1/5` cm = `20 1/5` cm
∴ The length of the remaining piece = `(601/4 - 201/5)` cm
= `((601 xx 5)/(4 xx 5) - (201 xx 4)/(5 xx 4))` cm ...[∵ L.C.M. of 4 and 5 is 20]
= `(3005/20 - 804/20)` cm
= `220 1/20` cm or `110 1/20` cm
