Should Students Have Homework During Holidays?

Holidays are meant for relaxation, recreation, and spending quality time with family. Therefore, I strongly believe that school students should not be given homework during holidays.

Firstly, holidays provide an excellent opportunity for students to strengthen family bonds. Spending time with parents, grandparents, and siblings helps children learn important values and create lasting memories. Secondly, many families travel during holidays. Visiting new places teaches students about different cultures, history, nature, and traditions. Homework may prevent them from fully enjoying and learning from these real-life experiences.

Moreover, students often learn more by observing the world around them than by completing written assignments. Activities such as reading books, playing outdoor games, visiting museums, or helping at home develop creativity, confidence, and practical knowledge. It is also important to remember that more homework does not always lead to better academic performance. A refreshed and relaxed mind learns more effectively than a tired one.

Finally, children need time to play, pursue hobbies, and enjoy their interests. Such activities support their physical and mental well-being.

In conclusion, holidays should remain free from homework so that students return to school refreshed, motivated, and ready to learn with greater enthusiasm.
