Solution

Mark Antony is deeply loyal to Caesar and is overcome with grief after his assassination. He calls Caesar the ‘noblest man’ and asks forgiveness for appearing friendly with the conspirators.

His love soon turns into a desire for revenge. In his soliloquy, he predicts civil war, bloodshed and destruction in Italy. At Caesar’s funeral, he cleverly uses irony, Caesar’s wounds and his will to turn the Roman crowd against Brutus and the other conspirators.

Later, Antony joins Octavius and Lepidus, raises an army and fights Brutus and Cassius at Philippi. Thus, Antony’s love for Caesar becomes the driving force behind his revenge and the downfall of the conspirators.
