Solution

Brutus is at the centre of several relationships based on love and loyalty. He loves Caesar as a friend, but he loves Rome more and therefore joins the conspiracy against him.

Portia deeply loves Brutus and worries about his disturbed state of mind. She wants to share his troubles and prove that she is worthy of his trust. Cassius also values Brutus greatly and knows that his honour and reputation can strengthen the conspiracy.

Thus, Brutus is surrounded by love as a friend, husband and respected Roman, but his love for Rome finally becomes stronger than his personal relationships.
