Solution
Area of a square = a × a sq.units
= 6 × 6 cm2
= 36 cm2
Area of a rectangle = l × b sq.units
= 9 × 6 cm2
= 54 cm2
Area of a triangle = `1/2 xx "b" xx "h" "sq.units"`
= `1/2 xx 4^2 xx 6 "cm"^2`
= 12 cm2
Total area of the shaded portion
= (36 + 54 + 12) cm2
= 102 cm2
