In `square` IJKL, side IJ || side KL, ∠I = 108°, ∠K = 53° then find the measure of ∠J and ∠L.

Solution

Line LK || Line IJ And line IL is the transversal.

∠L + ∠I = 180°      ...(interior angle)

∴ ∠L + 108° = 180°

∴ ∠L = 180° – 108°

∴ ∠L = 72°

Line LK || Line IJ and line JK are transversal lines.

∠K + ∠J = 180°       ...(interior angle)

∴ 53° + ∠J = 180°

∴ ∠J = 180° – 53°

∴ J = 127°
