Advertisements
Solution
a : b = 4 : 7 ⇒ `"a"/"b" = 4/7`
`(5"a" + 2"b")/(5"a" - 2"b") = (5 "a"/"b" + 2)/(5 "a"/"b" - 2)`
= `(5 xx 4/7 + 2)/(5 xx 4/7 - 2)`
= `(20/7 + 2)/(20/7 - 2)`
= `34/6`
= `17/3`
