Bacteria like Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae are responsible for pneumonia in humans. In this disease, the alveoli of the lungs get infected. Due to the infection of this disease, the alveoli get filled with fluid, which causes serious problems in respiration. Symptoms of this disease include fever, chills, cough and headache. Pneumonia can also be caused by viruses and fungi.
