Solution
Given: Marks (less than / below) : Below 10 = 17, Below 20 = 22, Below 30 = 29, Below 40 = 37, Below 50 = 50, Below 60 = 60.
Step-wise calculation:
Frequency of 0 – 10
= Cumulative below 10
= 17
Frequency of 10 – 20
= (Below 20) – (Below 10)
= 22 – 17
= 5
Frequency of 20 – 30
= (Below 30) – (Below 20)
= 29 – 22
= 7
Frequency of 30 – 40
= (Below 40) – (Below 30)
= 37 – 29
= 8
Frequency of 40 – 50
= (Below 50) – (Below 40)
= 50 – 37
= 13
Frequency of 50 – 60
= (Below 60) – (Below 50)
= 60 – 50
= 10
Frequency table:
| Marks | No. of students |
| 0 – 10 | 17 |
| 10 – 20 | 5 |
| 20 – 30 | 7 |
| 30 – 40 | 8 |
| 40 – 50 | 13 |
| 50 – 60 | 10 |
| Total | 60 |
