  1. Jellyfish are a coelenterate that has cnidoblasts bearing tentacles.
  2. These cnidoblasts inject toxins to paralyse the prey at the time of feeding.
  3. When jellyfish come in contact with our bodies, this toxin is released, causing a reaction to our skin.

Therefore, our body gets irritated when we come in contact with jellyfish.
