Solution

Frontal rain is common in mid-latitudes because this is the region where warm tropical air masses frequently meet cold polar air masses.

These contrasting air masses form fronts, boundaries where they collide. At these fronts, the warmer, lighter air is forced to rise over the denser cold air. As the warm air rises, it cools, condenses, and forms clouds, resulting in frontal rainfall. Since such interactions are typical in the temperate zones (30°–60° latitudes), frontal rain is a common weather phenomenon there.
