a. Both were courageous women who fought and won battles for their respective nations. a. Rani of Jhansi was the daughter of a court advisor, while Joan of Arc was a simple peasant girl.
b. Both died young; Joan of Arc - 19 years, Rani of Jhansi - 29 years b. Joan of Arc was burned at the stake (tied to a post and set on fire) by the Burgundians, while Rani of Jhansi was killed in a battle by the British.
c. Both were nicknamed Joan -The Maid Laxmibai - Rani of Jhansi c. Rani Laxmibai was educated and trained in warfare, whereas Joan was not.
